NHS Green Haven Mother and Baby Unit Sensory Room

In September 2018, we installed a new Sensory Room for the Green Haven Mother & Baby Unit in Nottingham. The idea behind this room was to provide a safe and calming space for mother’s who are suffering with their mental health, providing a place where they can have some quality time with their baby. 

The installation consists of a Starry Sky Projector, a Solar Wheel Projector, Colour Mixing Lighting, a custom-made floor pad, two Cotton Bean Bags, a 2m Bamboo Fibre Optic Tail, and at the the centre of the Sensory Room, a Premier Solutions Magic Rainbow Tube, complete with Plinth and acrylic mirror.

As with all our installations, the control for this Sensory Room is simple to use with little to no training required. All controls were installed in a lockable, steel control cabinet to control use of the equipment. Furthermore, the whole system can be shutdown at the turn of an isolation switch, making safe isolation of the system during maintenance or cleaning, very simple and easy – this can be locked in the “off” position to prevent unauthorised usage, if desired.
