Premier Solutions specialise in the supply and installation of fitted wall and floor padding that can be used for special needs applications, sensory rooms or calming rooms, private homes, gymnasiums, prisons, seclusion rooms and hospitals. Padded rooms are now common place in many mainstream schools or any demanding environment for de-escalation or restraint.
There should be a viewing widow into the room. So you can check the client is not in need of assistance. You could install a small window of one way mirrored glass into the door, so that the client can be checked on at regular timed intervals with out disturbing them
Premier room padding uses special "high density foam" enabling the pads to be only 50mm thick for floors and 60mm thick for walls and yet offers excellent protection preventing the client from impacting the hard surface below the padding. All pads are covered with hard wearing and easy to clean Vinyl and are available in a wide range of colours.
Our service includes free measuring and quotation and whilst standard 2m x 1m pads are used where possible, all special corners and shapes are custom made to ensure a perfect fit in your room. When used in sensory rooms, floor and wall padding can be made to fit around equipment like bubble tubes, waterbeds or wall displays etc. All wall padding is fitted with a 60mm ply back and each pad is held in place using fixing plates and screws.
Floor Pads are held together with heavy duty "Velcro" which enables them to be easily removed for cleaning. Wall pads are permanently fixed to the walls using hidden fixing plates and screws,
There is a large selection of colours available for the Vinyl covering and the colour does not affect the cost of the padding. You can have different coloured pads on the same installation if you wish. However, if you are considering also having sensory (colour-changing) lighting in the same room you should use white or magnolia colour vinyl. This will provide the lighting with a natural projection screen, allowing the lights to change the whole colour of the room, by reflection. White is the ideal. Remember that blue pads when lit with red light, will give you an undesirable "Brown Room". The pads can also have age-related graphics added if desired at extra cost.
It is common to include Seclusion Furniture in some padded rooms, to provide the client with comfortable seating that has been specifically designed for demanding environments.
Premier Solutions padding foam complies with the requirements of schedule 1, Part 1: The Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 (Amended 1989, 1993).
The PVC skin complies with the following British Standards: BS EN 71-2 2006, Clause 4.5 & 5.8, BS 5438: 1976: Method 2, BS 5438: 1989: Method 2a/ 2b, BS 5867: Part 2: 1980, Type B and BS 7837: 1996.
Please note that the purpose of wall and floor padding is to prevent injury to a client due to impact. Whilst every effort is made to make the padding as tough as possible, no padding will withstand determined or deliberate destructive action.
For rooms where wheeled access is required, for wheelchairs or hoists please see Impact-absorbing Floor Tiles as an alternative option to floor padding.
